When will it end?

Practically in every Indian home these days, at least one person is hooked on to at least one mega-serial. In most cases, it's our mothers. For my mom, she like thousands out there follows avidly Annamalai, Kungumam and Mangalyam. Thank God she stopped there. The rest of serials like Anni, Sahana, Metti Oli etc is once in a blue moon affair to her. As I only go home in the weekends, I dont really have to fight over the remote to catch my fav programs on ntv7, Starworld or AXN during these time slots. I'm so sick of this serials that I only watch them when there's completely nothing else to watch. Come on, it's way toooooooooooooo draggy. End it for goodness sake. Too many villains, too many plots, too many subplots. When you think of it , one is actually being shortchanged.

Why? Ok let's take Annamalai. It starts at 9.00pm. The intro song takes around 5 mins. In between there will be commercial breaks in total for 5-6 mins. The show then ends barely at 9.25pm. The closing song runs for another 5 mins. Arent you short changed? Big time!

It can be so frustating when they don't speed things up as well. It takes one entire episode for scenes that can be done in 1-2 mins. For example, in one episode last week, close to 5 mins was wasted by showing Jeeva's anni's attempt to retrieve the poison bottle from the cupboard. Why cant they go straight and show her pouring the god damn thing into the milk? No. They had to show the husband talking in his sleep. They had to show her trying to fall off the chair. It took her practically forever to do so.

Not only are we short changed, but some of the things are not realistic either! How many villains/evil people can there be? Too many. Annamalai is the worst. At least in Kungumam, Anni and the rest, there are only a handful - that I know of that is.In Annamalai the bad apples are :

That's all I can think of.

It's not a good thing to make people watch stuff that contain extreme level of hatred. Serials like Annamalai is not someting positive. It's so full of vengeance and revenge. Families dont function that way in real. Yes, there are bad apples around but not all in one family.
Oh, well. I just hope these serial makers come to their senses one day and finish it up already! We had enough of all the evil people. Just let everyone pay back whatever they want and end it already!
